The Story Behind This Artwork
I love the raw and savage beauty in nature. Although thistles are the floral emblem of Scotland, they are also common in Ireland. Considered by many to be a lowly menacing weed, I find them a beautiful splash of colour in the summer meadows and they smart to boot! The sharp prickles protect them from being eaten by herbivores while protecting its nectar-filled purple bounty for butterflies and small birds. Hard on the outside and soft in the centre!
I hope you enjoy taking my art to your home. Meaningful storytelling prints not only add fantastic colour to your home but they are a great talking point now that you know the reason it was created!
